The sink is one of the elements in the kitchen that require daily cleaning. Whether it is made of inox stainless steel, ceramic or resin, several solutions exist to clean each material. Here are our tips on how to clean a kitchen sink!

Cleaning a stainless steel kitchen sink

Stainless steel is well known for its resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. It is nevertheless pretty sensitive to water or grease stains. To prevent these stains, we advise you to clean the sink daily with a bit of dish soap and hot water.

In the case some stains remain, use a stronger solution with white vinegar diluted in hot water. To restore your sink’s shine, you can use sparkling water and scrub with a soft cloth.

Ceramic kitchen sinks

Ceramic is one of the easiest materials to clean. That said, it is still necessary to clean it regularly to extend the product’s longevity. For this, a sponge with water and soap is enough.

To remove limescale stains use a bit of baking soda and then rinse thoroughly. In the situation where the stains remain after using the baking soda, scrub the surface with sliced lemon or with a sponge full of stone clay.

Cleaning a synthetic material kitchen sink

Synthetic materials, such as resin, granite, quartz, etc., require a more delicate cleaning. To get rid of stains, use a classic scrubbing cream, or scrub with a cloth soaked in cleaning alcohol. If limescale has built-up, use baking powder, or any type of product rich in oxygen.

Here is one of our favorite cleaning recipes: 

  • Dilute 10 spoons of baking powder in 3 litres of water in your sink. 
  • Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes. 
  • Rinse thoroughly
