If you are looking for a colourful bathroom, bathroom plants can be an excellent solution. It’s a question of selecting the right plant, because as you can imagine, not all plants are suitable for humid bathrooms. We have put together a small list of plants that will fit perfectly in your bathroom.
1. ALOE VERA
If you are looking for a plant that can also be useful, we recommend you to choose an aloe vera plant. If you didn’t already know, you can use the leaves to moisturise your skin. You can also use the gel inside to moisturise just about any part of your body.
As the plant likes humidity but doesn’t need to be overexposed to the sun either, the ideal place for it is in the bathroom. If you need some tips on how to use aloe vera, we suggest you take a look at the Faust Island blog.
2. SCINDAPSUS PICTUS
Originally from the rainforest, this plant is in its element once it is placed in the bathroom! Its big advantage? You can make it climb or fall depending on the desired effect! It also needs a bright environment without being in direct sunlight. You don’t need to water it a lot if you put it in your bathroom. Once a week should be enough. The perfect plant for the busy ones!
The star plant of bathrooms: PILEA PEPEROMIOIDES
A little more discreet is this plant straight from China, which has been very popular over the last year! We thought that everything from China would be avoided, but we were wrong! It does not need to be placed in full sun. However, it does need a minimum of light. Be careful with watering too! It usually needs a lot of water but in the bathroom it already absorbs a lot. What we love about it is its small size and its rounded leaves: it looks like a floating water lily!
4. Invite the jungle into your bathroom with a STRELITZIA
If you are in the mood for a jungle, this one is for you! With its big leaves and long stems, it’s almost like a jungle. Why travel when you can do it in your bathroom? Well, okay, it’s not quite the same, we admit it! However, for this plant we advise you not to place it directly next to a heat source such as a heater. It will grow better if placed near a window. As it comes directly from South Africa and usually grows on the banks of rivers, placing it in the bathroom will recreate its natural environment.
We hope you now know which bathroom plant to choose. If you already have a favorite, don’t hesitate to tell us which one in the comments! See you soon for a new blog post.
